It is only in adventure that some people succeed in knowing themselves - in finding themselves." ~Andre Gide

I hope this will be a record for family, friends and my own memories of my trip to Guatemala, Summer 2011. While down here I am working on my Spanish and looking forward to the immersion in the language!

I'm excited about the adventures that await! July 10, 2011-August 8, 2011

Wednesday = Salsa

Yesterday started off with Salsa class. It was about an hour of learning some basic steps, leans, turns etc.

After class we headed to do a little shopping...

one of the first times I have gone shopping here and I finally had the opportunity to purchase a cell phone! now I can finally keep in touch with people when plans change and also so that I have a alarm... yea, for futre info... alarms don´t work well when your phone is on airport mode! For roughly $30 I got the phone and mintues... which I'm hoping will last me a while!

When I got back home I played hackysac, a hand version of hackysac and volleyball with the two little boys in the family. Before I knew it it was time to head back off to class.

In class I´m learning a lot of situational uses for grammar that have confused me in the past. Putting it into context is helping me understand it. And I´m hoping that my understanding lasts!

After class a few of us went to the coffee shop to do homework. After that we met up with my cali host brother after his guatemalan date to eat at a guatemalan restaurant. Then to finish off the night we met up with several other people from school to go salsa dancing.

So the day began and ended with Salsa!
