So on my way back home yesterday afternoon with another student to our house... we apparently took the wrong road! I´m glad we had a city map but we stopped probably 5 people to find out where we and they were of little help! I´m sure it tooks us 10 or 15 minutes longer... apparently not all roads have a name! We finally found the right direction when we the cereveceria... where they make and sell beer. It´s in our section of town and that was our sign of hope!!
Aye... lost in Xela... you need to watch the street markers carefully, but also the sidewalk and road! The cars and buses normally don´t stop for you... and the sidewalks often stop without notice or have holes... I´m sure there is one big enough that I could fit in!
But I do love it here none the less! I have fun with my teacher and then talked for a few hours with my host mom last night. It fun to be able to use the spanish I knew I had all along but rarely used!
